You understand how to run a profitable kitchen, maintain a clean, physical environment, inspire and maintain high team morale and a standard of customer satisfaction with food quality & presentation are at your core. You are fully accountable for all inventory systems, ordering and upholding food standards within the restaurant. You thrive working in a faced past environment and have strong motivational capabilities and will oversee the daily food planning & preparation.


  • MAINTAIN AN INCREDIBLY CLEAN & SAFE WORKING ENVIRONMENT and compliance with legislative & food handling requirements
  • Ensure the compliance of all standards and procedures relating to HACCP and provincial workplace safety standards.
  • Meet or exceed established food quality and plating specifications.
  • Complete all necessary food prep as per established standards
  • Cook to Order in a timely professional manner
  • Planning of Daily/Weekly Specials. Communication to ensure consistent presentation
  • Banquet Cooking & Serving where required
  • Entering supplier information, food details & costs into Inventory System
  • Entering Recipe Information in Inventory Systems
  • Complete operation of Inventory Control System
  • Work with on improving execution of inventory systems and standards.
  • Food cost controls and monitoring of food costs relative to budgets.
  • Purchasing, receiving orders and inventory controls.
  • Co-ordination of catering activities for events and special functions as required.
  • Meet sensitive deadlines for various kitchen activities
  • Oversee the training and development of the kitchen team
  • Ensure consistency of quality, portion control and plated presentation
  • Ensure recipe adherence in kitchen execution of all products served
  • Establish Various Off Site Catering Menus


  • MUST BE PROTON Certified or SMDHU Food Handler Certification
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast- paced environment
  • Self-motivated, team leader with organizational skills
  • Good comprehension of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards
  • Incredibly effective Time Management Skills
  • Must ensure that meals are prepared and that customers are served on time, especially during busy hours.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience working in a high-volume casual dining restaurant
  • Post-secondary education, preferably in hospitality and/or business related field
  • Strong business acumen, including an understanding of budgets and operating costs
  • Excellent knowledge of food, food handling and preparation
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and direct others
